Philippa Aylott
Philippa is a highly experienced broadcast senior leader, having worked extensively across both audio production, commissioning and live events.
Raised in Stroud, Gloucestershire and further educated in Sheffield. With a stint working in A&R, she was then lured by the golden lights of London with the promise of working in radio.
Philippa is now the Senior Commissioning Executive at BBC Music, working across the editorial and strategy of the BBC Music portfolio which houses the BBC’s music radio networks, Pop TV, Live Music and Events, Music On Demand and BBC Introducing.
Previous roles include Head of Production for BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, Editor for both BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music, editorial lead for Glastonbury, event producer for the BBC’s Electric Proms, producer of the BBC’s Sound Of..poll and a producer at BBC Radio 1. Philippa has previously been on the board of Trustees at the Academy before joining the deputy chair role and is an advocate for a thriving audio ecosystem.
