The Audio Academy is delighted to invite you to join our social event in Newcastle in collaboration with Audiotrain. Whether you’re working in or studying podcasting, radio, post-production, sound design, voiceover, audiobooks, live audio, or you’re simply passionate about sound, come along to our summer audio.
Our Audio Academy Branch Lead for the North East, Hunter Charlton, has been working alongside audio colleagues in Newcastle and Sunderland to create events for over a year. We’d love to meet you to hear your ideas for upcoming events, and how the Audio Academy can support you and your career.
Since Spring 2025, these gatherings have grown into a welcoming community for anyone working in (or curious about) the audio industry. They’re informal, collaborative, and designed to bring local creatives together to share ideas, projects, opportunities, and experiences.
Expect:
Talks from two North East audio professionals. Sue Richards Director of Sound Proof Audio will be talking audiobook production, drawing on two decades of experience in the field. We will also hear from Mark Nixon, Director of Shadows at the Door, discussing independent drama and his recent crowdfunding campaign.
- Meet fellow audio professionals and enthusiasts
- Networking in a relaxed setting
- Your first drink included
- A friendly, supportive community
Whether it’s your first time joining us or you’ve been to one of our socials before, we’d love to see you there.
Tickets: this event is free, but please register so we know you are coming!
Date: Tuesday 3rd November 2026
Time: 7:30pm–9:30pm
